(Mark 14:24-25)
“This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them. “I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God.”
Did Peter say he would flee from the Lord Jesus like the other disciples? What did Jesus predict Peter would actually do?
Peter said confidently that he would not run away from the Lord Jesus like the other disciples, and even if he had to die with Jesus, he would not say that he did not know the Lord Jesus. Peter really wanted to do what he said, but Jesus knew that not only would he not be able to do it, but he would do something worse than the other disciples, and before the rooster crowed twice that night, Peter would say twice that he would not Get to know Jesus. We often think we are better than others, but often it turns out that is not the case at all. We should not think that we are better than others. Only by relying on the Lord can we know ourselves better and be truly powerful.
Playing this wrist game, do you think your left hand or your right hand is stronger?
- Two people sit facing each other on opposite sides of a table.
- Bend their right elbows and place each on the table.
- Hold each other’s hands.
- Try to press the opponent’s arm against the table.
- Then both of them switch to using their left hands again.
To break apart: to separate something by hand.
I, too, used to think like Peter I was braver than other people, only to find out later that I was a coward. It turns out that the real me is actually very different from what I thought. I have to let the Lord Jesus help me, so that I can know myself better and become a truly brave person.
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, sometimes I also feel that I am better than others and think that I can do better than others. Thank you for reminding me with Peter’s story that I need to rely more on the Lord Jesus and help me to become a person with confidence. person, not an arrogant person. In the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen!
