(Mark 14:36)
“Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
Did Jesus not want to do what God wanted Him to do because he was afraid?
Jesus knew that he would be crucified for the sins of the world. He was very sad, sad, and afraid that he would be abandoned by God the Father. Jesus prayed to the Father that He hoped that this suffering would not happen, but if this was God’s plan, Jesus was still willing to do it according to God’s will. When Jesus was in great pain and weakness, he did not escape from difficulties, but still chose to face them and do what He should do.
Science game~
After holding a glass with water in the right hand, cover the mouth of the glass with a piece of paper completely with the left hand, then lift the glass upside down, and then let go of the left hand. The water in the glass must not leak out to be considered successful.
- Prostrate: to lie on the ground.
- This cup: here refers to the meaning that Jesus will suffer and die.
Jesus told God of his pain and was willing to face difficult problems. Is there anything you want to avoid? You can come and talk to God, let Him help you, and be brave enough to work hard to accomplish things that make you feel difficult.
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for letting me see that you are so willing to do God’s will and not run away from problems. I also want to tell God what I think I can’t do, and the pressure in my heart, and rely on God who can do everything. In the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen!
