Mark 15:1-20

(Mark 15:2)

“Are you the king of the Jews?” asked Pilate. “Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied.

Since Pilate knew Jesus was innocent, why did he still crucify Jesus?

Pilate knew that the chief priests arrested Jesus for trial because of jealousy, hoping that he would sentence Jesus to death. Pilate could not find out that Jesus had committed any crime of rebellion, but the chief priests asked the crowd to ask him to release Barabbas who rebelled. Pilate wanted to please everyone, so he scourged Jesus and crucified him. Pilate clearly knew the facts, but wanted to make the crowd like him, so he released the guilty Barabbas and crucified the innocent Jesus according to everyone’s wishes. He did not make the right choice according to true justice.

Let’s watch the story of “Soldiers Teasing Jesus”~

  1. Governor:Roman financial officer, usually from the warrior class, whose role was to supervise and collect state taxes in an assigned province.
  2. Instigate:instigate, instigate, instigate (others to do bad things)

If a classmate asks you to cheat in an exam together, don’t agree to cheat with him just because he is afraid of rejecting him, he will be angry, and afraid of losing this friend. You can ask him to review homework and prepare for exams, and your friendship will be stronger.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, when I want others to like me and do what they will like, I will do what you will like me to do in the right way according to the truth you taught. In the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen!
