Isaiah 50:1-11

( Isaiah 50:4)

The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.

The Israelites were betrayed by their own transgressions. What three questions did God ask them to remind them of their lack of faith in seeking Him?

Did God treat Israel like a husband deserting his wife? No, Israel was forsaken because of her own transgression. God asked: Why was no one there when I came? Why doesn’t anyone answer when I call? Is it that my arms are too short to save you? Of course not, God has great power. He gives the servant the ability to know how to support the weary; He also opens the servant’s ears so that he can accept discipline. Who among the Israelites feared God? Heed the words of God’s servants? Those who fear God can walk in the light, but those who try to rely on themselves are bound to be miserable.

God asked why no one answered his call? Let’s play “Who Called Me”:

  1. Everyone forms a circle and chooses one person to stand as an “angel”.
  2. The “angel” standing in the middle will roll the roll. When calling the name of any person in the group, such as “Li XX”, pay attention: the person called cannot answer “yes”, only the people on the left and right of “Li XX” The hand answered “yes”.
  3. The person who makes a wrong move or speaks a wrong word will switch places with the “angel”.
  4. Those who make more than three mistakes will come out to perform.

Lord waken every morning, waken my ears, that I may hear as one that is taught. I am willing to answer the call of God, to wait on Him wholeheartedly, as Creator and Almighty Ruler.

Dear Heavenly Father, praise You as Creator and Almighty Ruler, please give me an ear to hear Your words, a teachable, obedient heart, rely on Your help and salvation, and let me walk in Your light. In the name of the Lord Jesus, amen.
