Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
What are the three reasons why God comforts the distressed people in captivity, “Do not be afraid”?
God compared Israel to a woman who was barren and barren, and now they will have many children, and even her descendants will be as numerous as the sand on the seashore, filling desolate cities with people. Zion was sad because of her sins and captivity, but now God comforts her: “Don’t be afraid”. The reasons are: first, she will no longer be shamed; second, God is her husband and will redeem her; Restoring their marital relationship to safeguard her dignity, safety and well-being. Although God’s wrath is like a flood, it comes suddenly and violently, but His love and mercy are eternal. She is no longer abandoned or captive, God’s faithfulness to the covenant is more enduring and reliable than mountains and hills. God rebuilt the city of Jerusalem and built it with different precious stones, which shows the glory and richness of the city. The children in the city will be taught by God to be safe, the city is stable because of righteousness, and it is far from the threat of war.

Is there anything that makes me feel abandoned and sad? God’s love for us never changes, is firm and reliable, and I want to be with Him all my life and receive His teachings to be at peace.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your eternal love and mercy, and for making a covenant of peace with us. Please help us to rely on your grace, and when you are angry and chasten us, believe that you are not afraid, because you will save and change our life, making it more glorious and beautiful.
